ANARTS WW RTTY 2008 TBA.
ANARTS WW RTTY 2009 Set goals of a total of 50 QSO's, then 100,000 points, and then 50 QSO's on a single band. Managed all of them. Surprisingly 10m opened for a while with some sporadic-E, also 20m still open at 22:00UTC.
ARI 50MHz Veneto 2006 An Italian regional contest on 6m that coincided with a Sporadic-E opening. Worked 9 stations.

ARI Volta RTTY 2006 Worked 53 stations, but conditions were poor. Heard several good DX stations, including KP2, JA6 and YV5, but all down in the noise and not workable. No 10m, and 15m almost dead. Worked OH0Z and LV5V [20m], with GM0FGI [80m] and OH0Z on 40m. Several new US counties worked.
ARI Volta RTTY 2007 Worked 46 stations including several on 15m. W3LL was the only US station worked.
ARI Volta RTTY 2008 Worked 8 stations while taking part in the CW section of the CQ-M contest.
ARRL 10m 2004 First time I've taken part in a single band contest. Worked only 9 stations, with no contacts outside of Europe. Best DX was working A61AJ.
ARRL 160m CW 2008 Worked 6 stations during this 160m CW contest, including a new 160m and CW DXCC, MD4K.
ARRL Field Day 2009 For NA stations only. Gave points to two stations on 40m CW running 5W and a vertical, from a 12V battery [category 1e DX].
ARRL International DX CW 2008 With 15/10m dead, I ended up just working 23 W/VE stations, nearly all on 40m, using QRP and CW. Worked 3 stations from Texas, as well as one all time new state.
ARRL International DX CW 2009 Worked 40 stations mainly on 40m using only 5 watts. Very pleased to work a few W's on 80m using the temporary wire. PA, VA and NJ the most worked.
ARRL International DX CW 2010 Did  a  40m QRP only entry this year. Mainly east coast but did manage to work to Texas, then in to Arizona, and finally in to K7GK Oregon.
ARRL International DX SSB 2004 75 QSO's worked across 20m and 15m, with the majority being on 15m. Contest is for working W and VE stations only. W1AJT/P/VE3 supplied my first ever QSL card via the bureau.
ARRL International DX SSB 2005 Worked only 41 stations this year, mainly on 20m and 15m, with a few 40m QSO's thrown in. K4XS provided a new state [Florida] on 40m, and N1UR gave a new state [Vermont] on 15m.
ARRL International DX SSB 2006 First time I started working split on 40 using the IC-7400. Got several 'excellent audio' reports from US stations. Highlights included K7RL for a new 40m state {Washington] and VE5UA for a new 20m province [Alberta]. 15m did not open, with only two contacts made [AL & MD].
ARRL International DX SSB 2007 This year I had the 20m long inverted L antenna up and tuned by an MFJ16010 end-fed wire tuner. 40m very noisy and few stations were worked. 10m/15m still dead during the day. Worked VY2ZM on 80m for a new band DXCC.
ARRL International DX SSB 2008 TBA.
ARRL International DX SSB 2009 Worked 17 stations with only one VE and only one station on 20m. Running 20W to the vertical.
ARRL International DX SSB 2010 Worked only one station in very poor conditions and QRM, so gave up.
ARRL RTTY Roundup 2006 Not only did 15m fail to open up, 20m was also down on usual, especially to the USA and Asia; heard no JA's or west coast W's. 40m was a bear pit, and I had trouble sorting out some of the closely packed stations. On a dead 20m overnight, I heard a single station; a Columbian [100% copy with me] working into JA1 [and hearing about 30% of this side of the contact]. Saw GU0SUP being worked but heard nothing of him. Highlight was P49X on Aruba coming back to me on 40m at my first calling. Worked some 15m stations after sunrise. Must get an 80m antenna working properly! Still having to manually write up a call sign check log, as WinWarbler is not 'contest' designed software.
ARRL RTTY Roundup 2007 Used N1MM to log this contest. It's a good contest application for RTTY, but proved difficult to use with the power output problems I am having (the output level takes 1-2 seconds to stabilise). This means several seconds of diddles and line feeds before I send my call sign or report. In the mean time another station pops in and grabs the QSO! Worked G0MTN on 80m. The most unusual QSO was UT3FW/MM on 40m.
ARRL RTTY Roundup 2008 Used N1MM Logger V7.5.10 Very noisy bands during the competition. Heard no one running PSK, only RTTY. Worked only 36 stations including 1 on 80m, 1 on 15m and 2 on 20m. The rest were on 40m. Worked WB9Z in Illinois and KR4F in Alabama.
ARRL RTTY Roundup 2009 Used N1MM Logger updated version V8.8.1 Started off late by playing on 40m, then managed 20m and finally on to 15m, where almost all the stations worked were Russians! Only 6 US states worked, all on 40m. 24 DXCC worked. Best DX included [40m] T77NM, HI3TEJ and P49X. Best 20m DX was 5C5W.
ARRL RTTY Roundup 2010 TBA

Baltic 2010 Worked 18 stations on CW, and one on SSB. Only worked Baltic stations this time.
BARTG 75bd RTTY 2010 A new contest running a faster RTTY mode, so had to use MultiPSK. Worked 20 stations on 20m. Best DX was JM1XCW, FM5CD and VE2FK.
BARTG SPRING 2006 Managed to forget to switch the computer over to the RTTY station, so the first 20 QSO's didn't get their exact frequency recorded in the log. Worked 86 stations, with two on 80m. The rest were split between 20m [CN8LI & CN8KD] and 40m [TA1DX & 7X0RY].
BARTG SPRING 2007 Didn't manage to beat last years QSO total. Band conditions poor and spent time doing the Russian DX contest. No new DXCC worked. Best DX was JA6ZPR on 20m. Both 10m and 15m dead.
BARTG SPRING 2008 62 stations on 20/40m. Worked AA5AU on 40m. WX was -3degC with sleet and snow.
BARTG SPRING 2009 Only three bands with activity this year; 80m [19x], 40m [x18] and 20m [x9]. A good run of W's on 40m, including one in New Mexico. New band/slot with MI0M on 80m.
BARTG SPRING 2010 Entered as the guest op. of GB50ATG. Worked 50 stations, mainly on 80m. Some 15m activity, including USA and UA0. Used N1MM and the IC-7400 at 20W.
BARTG SPRINT 2006 Picked up two all time new DXCC entities during the contest. Some 15m activity, but not much! 10m absolutely dead. Unable to get shortened dipole to tune on 80m. Masses of OH stations active. 40m was not as busy as I had expected. JY4NE - first Jordan QSO: entity, 20m, RTTY. 6W8CK - first Senegal QSO: entity, 15m, RTTY.
BARTG SPRINT 2007 Worked only 33 stations in very poor conditions, using N1MM Logger V7.1.1 Mostly active on 20m. Worked most of the regulars. very pleased to work TF3AO on 14.092MHz.
BARTG SPRINT 2008 Didn't spend any time working this contest. just gave points away to one station on 80m.
BARTG SPRINT 2009 Worked only 30 stations in poor band conditions. Some much rain the vertical tuned up on 80m for a couple of local contacts. Used N1MM Logger V8.8.1
BARTG SPRINT 2010 Very surprised to end up working 135 stations, including a string of W's on 15m when no EU stations were heard on the band. Nothing on 10m. Worked ZM2A on 20m during the Sunday morning for an new band/mode DXCC. Also worked GU0SUP on early Sunday morning for a new 80m band/mode DXCC.
Black Sea Cup International 2010 A new CW contest, where Black Sea Contest Club members count for multipliers. Ended up working 32 stations, including VE2XAA on 80m.
Contest Bloggage

CANADA DAY 2007 TBA.
CANADA DAY 2008 TBA.
CIS DX QPSK63 2009 A new contest. QPSK63 is a lot harder to work than BPSK31 or 63. The usually worked stations were all call no reply. In between working S&P in the SAC contest, logged 21 QSO's. No W/VE stations, and only two UA9 stations.
CIS DX RTTY 2005 VERY pleased to work Reunion for an all time new DXCC on any band/mode. Not a serious competition entry, more a case of the weather's bad outside so why not pass the time in the shack giving away a few points! Heavy rain caused S9+ QRN at times. Worked 32 stations. UN7PBY - first Kazakhstan QSO: 40m. FR1HZ - first Reunion Island QSO: entity, 20m, RTTY. YB5BO - first Indonesia QSO: 20m.
CIS DX RTTY 2006 VERY pleased to work Australia for an all time new DXCC on any band/mode. Worked 65 stations in marginal conditions. Most of the QSO's were on 20m, with some on 15m. VK4AN - first Australia QSO: entity, 20m, RTTY.

CQ WW DX CW 2007 Worked my first CW contest! 224 contacts, mainly on 40m and 20m. Worked some east coast W/VE, but no SA, Africa or Asia, other than a couple of UA9 stations. Gave Simon 2E0CVN a shock when I called him on three bands! Most exotic were P3F,4L0A and 4O3A on 40m.
CQ WW DX RTTY 2005 The first time I have worked over 200 contacts during a contest [223]. 15m open midday on both days, with good conditions to east coast W's, and 20m stayed open until mid evening on the Sunday. Highlights included A61AJ, HC8N, ZL2AMI and TF3W [40m] and TF4M, TK/F5CWU and VP9/K9JY [20m]. 9M2CNC first West Malaysia QSO: 15m, RTTY.
CQ WW DX RTTY 2006 Did not work as many stations as last year. 15m opened but did not work many stations through the wall of European stations calling 6W1, ZL, JA and W6. Had a productive morning session with some 26 QSO's on 40m and 20m. Worked Liechtenstein for my first ever RTTY QSO with that DXCC. HB0/DL1ZBO first Liechtenstein QSO: RTTY. YT6A first Montenegro QSO: 15m.
CQ WW DX RTTY 2007 Very poor conditions on 15m/10m, and 20m was also quiet at times. Using the old TS-570 and PK-232 set up, managed to work 179 stations. Worked a couple of W's on 40m but it was hard going. T93M first Bosnia-Herzegovina QSO: 80M RTTY.
CQ WW DX RTTY 2008 144 stations in the log, including 3V8BB on 40m for first Tunisia QSO on RTTY. 40m included J42T, P49X and 5P9X.

CQ WW DX RTTY 2010 Worked 193 stations; 52/80m, 90/40m, 30/20m and 21/15m. Worked two all-time-new RTTY band/mode slots; CN2R on 80m and PJ2T on 40m. All S&P. The 15m activity was nearly all UT, UA and UA0. Unexpected was CU2AF on 15m. 10m remained dead even though SFI > 90.
CQ WW DX SSB 2005 My first real effort at an SSB contest, although I got off to a very slow start. Used SD for the logging program. 15m proved to be open at times with several new band-DXCC entities being worked. Early evening 20m opened up to the east coast USA, and 15m did the same on early Sunday afternoon. M8C - first England QSO: 15m. IS0/WH0Q - first Sardinia QSO: 20m. TF/N0HJZ - first Iceland QSO: 15m. SV9CVY - first Crete QSO: 15m, SSB.
CQ WW DX SSB 2006 The biggest contest entry I have made to date. 404 contacts logged, including a number on 80m, using the newly made and installed 20m long inverted L antenna. Also made first ever 160m QSO with M8C. 15m actually opened for a number of hours, and proved very interesting. Some hissing heard on DX signals, perhaps auroral? Worked M8C on all six bands. The Liechtenstein/HB0 contacts were most welcomed, as were all the G's and GM's on 40m and 80m. Heard a lot of exotic callsigns but unable to get through the enormous pileups. 3V6T in Tunisia was the most exotic worked. 4N1A 80m SSB first Serbia QSO: 80m. LN9Z 80m SSB first Norway QSO: 80m. ZC4T 20m SSB first Cyprus (UK Bases) QSO: SSB. CU2A 10M SSB first Azores QSO: 10M. OE2S 10M SSB first Austria QSO: 10M. 3V6T 15m SSB first Tunisia QSO: 15m. RK2FWA 10M SSB first Kaliningrad QSO: 10M. CU2/OH1VR 15m SSB first Azores QSO: 15m.
CQ WW DX SSB 2007 With very poor band conditions on 15m/10m and 20m being full of QRN/QRM, decided to play on 40m only for a few hours. The only exotic worked was US5D in zone 16. Almost everyone else was in Europe zones 14/15. Most surprising QSO was with HB0/DF4TD/M. New 40m DXCC was 1A3A.
CQ WW DX SSB 2008 126 stations logged, including VP5T for first Turks and Caicos QSO on SSB.
CQ WW DX SSB 2009 Worked 39 stations only, as 40m and 80m kept showing intermittent high SWR. Worked only stations that were either new contest DXCC or new zone, except for Bob - 2E0RCV. Best DX was TS9A in Tunisia. Worked ZC4LI for a new band 15m/mode SSB slot.
CQ WW VHF 2006 Normally would not enter this contest, but as there was a small Es opening on 6m, I worked 6 stations, including EH8BPX on the Canary Islands for a new 6m DXCC.
CQ WW WPX CW 2008 A big CW contest. Worked only S&P but picked up 180 contacts, including 11 new DXCC's on CW mode. Both 10m and 15m had activity. Even worked Europeans on 20m at midnight!

CQ WW WPX CW 2010 A busy weekend meant only 46 stations worked. Solar storms meant that even 20m was dead during the daytime. Worked some sporadic-E on 10m.
CQ WW WPX RTTY 2005 The first time I have worked over 100 contacts [103] during an RTTY contest. Unable to work during the Saturday afternoon or the Sunday afternoon. Got the vertical to tune up on 80m for a change! Midday Sunday had a good 15m opening. Highlights included CN8KD and J43BSF [40m] and G6PZ [80m].
CQ WW WPX RTTY 2006 First time I have set a target in a contest. I wanted to beat last years QSO count, by aiming to work over 200 stations. Also a successful DXCC contest, with three new entities, three new band entities and two new mode entities. Worked entirely S&P mode. No specific 80m aerial. 10m dead throughout. This contest resulted in my most active month since being licensed; 411 QSO's. T77CD first San Marino QSO: entity, 40m, RTTY. Very few W/VE's worked or heard. total was 133 stations. EA8AH first Canary Islands QSO: 80m. UA9CLB first Asiatic Russia QSO: 80m.
CQ WW WPX RTTY 2008 No new DXCC worked. Didn't spend too much time in the RTTY contest, as playing CW on top band. Worked 124 stations, including a nice run on 40m on Saturday morning. Highlights included [40m] P49X and NP3U. Managed to work a few stations on 15m.
CQ WW WPX RTTY 2009 Built a temporary inverted-sloping-top loaded-lazy-L for 80m, that actually worked. 40 was the best band, even during the day. Less than 10% of the stations worked were not WPX multipliers. A71CV first Qatar QSO: entity 15m, RTTY. YN2S first Nicaragua QSO: entity 40m, RTTY. Best DX included TC1DX, YN2S, P49X and P40R [40m], A71CV [15m] and M0SDX [80m]. Worked 130 station in total, all S&P using N1MM Logger V8.8.1

CQ WW WPX SSB 2005 As last year, 10m was dead. Unable to operate on the Sunday session, so only 68 QSO's this year. 20m gave 2E0ATY and J42T, 40m was good for CN2R and 15m provided ED8WPX and 5B/AJ2O.
CQ WW WPX SSB 2006 10m completely dead. 15m very quiet, but worked some surprising stations: PS2T [Brazil] and ZD8Z [Ascension Island]. These two stations were booming, and working runs of Europeans, but no Europeans were calling CQ....most strange. 40m was its usual bear pit. Took advantage of the extension up to 7.200MHz to work USA stations in between the broadcast QRM. The target was to beat the 2004 totals in numbers of QSO's and points. Achieved both! 40m gave J6DX for my 99th DXCC country [St. Lucia], followed by my 100th DXCC country with HI3CCP on 40m [Dominican Republic]., then just before I had to finish for the weekend, ZD8Z popped up on 15m for Ascension Island and DXCC number 101. J6DX 40m SSB first St Lucia QSO: entity, 40m, SSB. 8P5A 40m SSB first Barbados QSO: 40m, SSB. Z37M 20m SSB first Macedonia QSO: SSB. ZA/Z35M 40m SSB first Albania QSO: 40m. CQ WW WPX SSB 2008 Worked 108 stations mostly on 40m. Several UA9's worked on 15m. 10m completely dead except for a very weak and watery DL calling CQ. Heard UA's working strings of JA's on 15m.
CQ WW WPX SSB 2009 Very difficult to make QSO's on 80/160m with the wire aerial. 40m very good with the QRP. A73A - first Qatar QSO: 40m, SSB. 15m best DX was P33W in Aruba. Nothing heard on 10m. Only two prefixes worked twice.
CQ-M International DX 2006 Gave away a few points, mainly on 40m, to 11 stations, including 4L6AM and EN5D.
CQ-M International DX 2007 Filling in time between RTTY sessions in the VOLTA contest, gave away points to 12 stations. Furthest DX worked was UA9CLB. Worked GB4VLX on 20/40m, in memory of Deryck Buckley G3VLX, who I have known since my pre-license days, on 20/40m.

Croatian CW 2008 Worked 33 stations across 20/40m only. Nothing heard on 15m. Lots of UA and UT stations worked, but no K/VE stations.

RSGB VHF NFD 2007 Once again the Sporadic-E started on 6m during the Saturday afternoon. VE1YX and K1AC were booming in to G, but the pileups were too much for my QRP. Took the opportunity to work some 2m and 70cm stations. With 5W and the newly installed 9-ele Tonna, managed to work on 2m in to GM, F, EI, PA and DL. Best DX was 9A4VV in JN82IW at 1561km.

RSGB VHF NFD 2009 A change in rules means that fixed stations can enter a 'sweeper' section. You get points for any contact, but the multipliers are only the registered portable stations. Worked QRP on both 6m and 2m. Worked only 12 stations on 6m. As well as YT2F, I worked one GM, and one EI. The rest were all portable G stations. On 2m I worked 31 stations. Russia WW PSK 2010 The TS-570 developed an AGC type fault after three contacts; the S level drops from S9 to S0 in about two seconds, making it hard to hear/work anyone. Ended up swapping to the IC-7400 and the slower PC. Concentrated on using PSK63 and PSK125 rather than the slower PSK31.
Russian Digital + SSTV Contest 2007 An SSTV, PSK63 and RTTY mode contest. Heard no one using RTTY, but worked 11 stations on PSK63 and one on SSTV.

Russian Radio RTTY 2008 Worked 66 stations on 40/20m. Found 10/15m dead, and the weather so bad I was unable to put the 80m inverted L's up. Using Kenwood TS-570D at 20W and Hygain AV-14AVQ vertical. Software was the latest versions of DXLab's WinWarbler and DXKeeper. Just before 0600GMT managed to work some good DX; ZL4A and K7QQ [Washington state] on 40m. Was still hearing ZL4A and hour later.
Russian Radio RTTY 2009 37 stations worked, mainly on 40m. Used N1MM, but I don't like the spectrum display, I prefer the waterfall, and the one on N1MM isn't as good as WinWarbler's. The only real benefit of N1MM is the ability to export a Cabrillo file, even though the .adi file have to be imported in to the DXKeeper log.
