One of the first wildflowers to be found flowering in spring, usually appearing just before the Bluebells. Also known as Windflower and Thimbleweed. The scientific name is Anemone nemorosa. Part of the Buttercup family.

Woody nightshade

Rather than the flowers, this photo is of later in the season when the poisonous berries have formed. Starting off green, they change to yellow, and then to red when ripe. Also known as Bittersweet. Part of the Nightshade family, the scientific name is Solanum dulcamara.

Common Walnut

A new walnut tree in the making. I was digging over the vegetable plot and dug up a sprouting walnut. All it had was a 25mm tap root. I relocated the walnut to another spot and this is the result, a 150mm high walnut tree!. Also known as Persian walnut and English walnut. Known under the scientific name as Juglans regia.
