Rain Forest Originally from Brazil/Central American rain forest. This is a tall plant reaching 6 feet in one season. Rocoto A chile much prized in its native Mexico City for use in salsas. Its size and shape are like a hen's egg. Its heat level is around 8 and it has a marvellous apple-like flavour. It has one further unique feature - its seeds are black, which makes it most attractive in salsas. The seeds are brown to black and very large, which easily distinguishes it from other varieties. Pods are about 2.5 cm round. (Capsicum pubescens). Cherry-like very meaty fruits. Turns to orange-red when ripe 80 days from transplant.
