Venison Chili 246572 from fooddownunder.com http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/recipe.cgi?r=246572 2 lb ground venison 1 lrg chopped onion 1 x chopped gr pepper 4 x cloves garlic, pressed 1 lrg can tomatoes, whole or diced 1 lrg can crushed tomatoes 2 tsp olive oil 2 tsp ground cumin 2 tsp ground chili powder 1 x bay leaf 1 x (15 oz.) can pinto beans 1 x (15 oz.) can black beans 1 x (15 oz.) can white canellini beans (Progresso) 8 oz sliced mushrooms (optional) Saute meat, oil, onions, gr pepper, garlic `till done. Add the rest of ingredients, EXCEPT beans. Cover and cook about 1 hr. Add beans. Do not drain any of the liquids from the beans before adding. Simmer another 20-30 mins. We always eat it over crushed tortilla chips or hot white rice. We also like it spicy, so I usually add about 1 t crushed red chilies. *If you add mushrooms, cook them with the meat mixture.
