Hot and Sweet Chili by Ian Ballard posted to alt.food.mexican-cooking 1 2lb ground beef 2 1/2 each green and red capsicum peppers finely chopped 3 8-12 hot green chilli`s 4 1 large onion finely chopped 5 1 stick celery very finely chopped 6 2 14oz tins chopped tomatoes 7 2 table spoons tomato puree 8 1 tin red kidney beans drained and washed 9 1 tea spoon ground cumin 10 2 tea spoons hot chilli powder 11 2 table spoons pure honey 12 1 rounded table spoon dark chocolate powder 13 8 cloves of garlic peeled and crushed 14 1 vegetable stock cube 15 salt and pepper METHOD 1 In a large heavy frying pan heat the oil and fry garlic for 1 minute then add onion celery and bell peppers reduce heat and sweet down until onion is soft and translucent 2 Add chilli peppers stir in about 1 minute increase heat and add meat then cook until all meat is light brown 3 Add spices,stock cube and tomatoes stir in and reduce heat allow to cook for 20 minutes stirring occasionally 4 Add tomato puree and season to taste 5 Add honey and chocolate 6 Stir and simmer for 10 minutes then serve Author: Ian Ballard - alt.food.mexican-cooking
