That on top of a kid with a cold really cut into my food preparation time. I threw this together a few days ago and my husband (the carnivore) ACTUALLY ATE IT! A miracle! One can of Trader Joe's black bean chili. One can of Del Monte (I think) Mexican-style stewed tomatoes 1 tsp cumin 2 tbsp minced onions (dry) 2 tsp chili powder 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup textured vegetable protein I heated it all up and simmered for about 10 minutes, then covered and let it sit about 10 minutes while we were all running around trying to find time to eat dinner. Served over brown rice with cornbread on the side. I actually had a can of all-meat chili ready for Hubby to eat if he complained about my meatless chili, but he tasted mine and liked it! I put tobasco on mine because I'm the only spicy head in the family.
